WALKING : More than 100 kilometres of sign posted paths are available in the 6 villages of the valley :

• Lac d’Allos : 2225 m altitude. A real jewel. The highest natural lake in Europe.
• The Gorge of St Pierre : majestic and impressive, with the shepherds refuge as your reward.
• The Bridge of “La Serre” : with its numerous pools, the starting point for thelake Lignin.
• The lake of l’Encombretteand the shepherds refuge : starts in the village of Clignon.
• Village of Colmars : fortified by Vauban, with 2 forts !
  A marvellous medievel city !

• Heated swimming pool at Colmars-les-Alpes (2 Kms) with a view of the surrounding fortifications and mountains.
• Heated family swimming pool at Beauvezer (3 Kms).
• Tennis at Colmars, next to the swimming pool.
• Tennis at Beauvezer with an adjacent multi sports pitch.
• Horse riding at Villars-Colmars : with Carine Duret, qualified instructeur.
• Large grassed play area 100 m from chalet, with table tennis, slides and swings for the children.
• Park with childrens slides, swings, roundabout at Colmars.
• Climbing site at 6 Kms from Villars-Colmars, after the village of Chasse. (20 equipped climbs from 5a to 7a difficulty).
• Moutain Bike circuit at Ratery, with the possibility to hire bikes. 20 Kms of tracks ; take the road for the Col des Champs at Colmars.
• Quad circuit at Allos Le Seignus (13 Kms).
• Water and activities park at Allos (10 Kms) with an artificiel lake, jungle park (adventure course in the pine trees), Skate board park, climbing wall, pedaloes, water slide, archery, trampoline, tennis, childrens playground.
• In springtime, there is rafting and canoeing in the Verdon river.
• “Parc Arbres et aventures” at Beauvezer (3 Kms) : Open every day in summer – adventure course for children and adults through the magnificent forest next to the river, with a 130 m long cable and pulley slide (“Tyrolienne”).
• Troust fishing in the Verdon river, category 1. (Permit needed, on sale at various points in the valley).
• Initiation into parapente in a double parachute, at Allos (10 Kms).
• Major european site of parapente, hang gliding atc at St André-les-Alpes. (25 Kms).

WHAT’S ON.

• Market within the walls of Colmars, every Tuesday and Friday morning throughout the summer (2 Kms).
• Hunting, fishing and nature festival at Villars-Colmars towards the end of May.
• Village Patron Saints day, Saint Sévère, in July : childrens games, boules tournements open air ball and firework display.
• At Colmars at the beginning of August, spectacular medievel festival with a market, jousting, costumed feast in the Fort de Savoie...
